upcoming events Catalyst Climate Change Cafe 02 "And the Winner is Sydney" Thursday 26 June 2008
In what ways can we, the city of Sydney, with the human and material resources we have at our disposal, redefine what is possible in terms of achieving our city’s 2030 climate change goals? In 2000, Sydney gave the world “the best games ever”. But now we have a much greater and more important challenge - how do we transform the carbon footprint of Sydney so that it is a shining climate change leader amongst the world’s cities? The City of Sydney recently launched its Sustainable Sydney 2030 vision, incorporating a bold 70% cut in carbon emissions from 2006 levels. This target will only be possible through unprecedented models of collaboration amongst the city’s stakeholders. In this, the second 2008 Catalyst Cafe to advance climate change leadership, we will explore:
David Hodes, thought leader in methods of collaboration in complex multi-stakeholder initiatives, will introduce some key principles that might help generate collaboration. David will refer to the inspiring example of the Sustainable Foodlab, a global collaborative project to review our worldwide food supply-chains. We then turn to the popular Catalyst Cafe format in which we use facilitated cafe table dialogue to harness our collective capacity to create new possibilities for Sydney, ourselves and our organisations. See www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/2030/ for more information on Sustainable Sydney 2030. Kindly sponsored by the Dockside Group
